2) Will the Privacy/confidentiality of innovation be maintained?

Absolute confidentiality will be assured as in accordance with the terms of the Confidentiality Agreement as proposed under Terms and Conditions. nVisiOn is not asking its readers for their business Idea. In the initial stage, participants are required to provide information in a Creative Summary format only to help the jury filter genuine interest. All information shared through this program will remain the Intellectual Property of the participant.

3) How would this contest help me?

nVisiOn is the only contest of its kind which provides an opportunity for the creative brains to gather on one platform and showcase their creative ideas. Also the best idea gets a prize worth upto Rs. 1 Lakh! The knowledge partners of the contest will help the winner to realize that idea. The winner/winning team will be awarded a patent for their creation.

4) Does the idea have to be highly technology oriented?

No, the idea does not have to be technology oriented. We accept innovative ideas in any field as long as the idea can be later expressed in the form of a mechanical or operational product.

5) Is there an entry fee?

There is no entry fee. The contest is open to all and the participation is absolutely free.

6) Does the participant need to physically present?

7) Can I send multiple entries? If yes, then how many can I submit?

Yes, you may submit as many ideas as you like. However, each idea must go as a separate entry under your name.

8) Can I be part of more than one team with different members and participate?

Yes, you may be a part of more than one team. It allows you the opportunity to contribute as many ideas as you like, be it with different team members.

9) What would be the benefit of patent?

A patent will provide the winning team exclusive rights on the creation. The patent recipient would get a financial n legal upper hand on the creation and thus also on the business opportunities arising out of the idea. 10) If I won, where will the patent be filed?

The patent will be filed under the USPTO.

11) How will I be related to the patent?

The winner/winning team will act as inventor(s) of the patent. This therein gives them the opportunity to exercise exclusive rights on the idea without anyone else exploiting it.

12) How can you use a patent?

Patents allow the rights holder to enforce legal measures to prevent others from practicing the subject matter. In practice, there are different ways to use patents to create value, and people are getting more creative about it all the time.

1. Practicing 
The first and most obvious method for realizing economic value from patents is by producing and selling products which embody the patent. This is what is known as “practicing” the patent. Value derives from the producer’s ability to exclude competitors and therefore earn monopoly profits.

2. Licensing
An alternative to practicing a patent is to license its rights to another entity. Licensing value is realized when the licensee pays royalties and other fees to the licensor. Therefore this can be viewed as a function of the ultimate value from practicing the patent. Licensing transactions also offer the opportunity to observe prices that occur in the market between willing entities

3. Litigating
An entity that does not practice or license a patent can sometimes receive value by leveraging the special legal status of patents. Recently, some patent holders (generally sole inventors) use patents as an asset in a threatened or real patent infringement suit. In this case, the patent holder does not intend to practice the patent, but seeks value primarily through settlements and court awarded damages

4. Deterring
“Defensive” patenting is the practice of filing patents for the purpose of providing a basis for counter-infringement claims in patent litigation. In a sense, it is the opposite of litigation value. As patent infringement litigation has accelerated, many companies have filed defensive patents to serve as a deterrent by increasing the cost to opponents of asserting patent rights.
